Police Brutality in North Providence
This is my "travel blog" but I feel I have to say something about this... my friend Alex Svoboda, one of the nicest and most caring people I know, was the victim of police brutality in North Providence over the weekend. There was a peaceful protest against labor practices for a supply company in New York and a local restaurant which used them-- Jacky's Galaxie. The North Providence police apparently decided to make an example of Alex. She was beaten and her left leg broke. She needs three surgeries to repair the damage. Really looks like someone who needs to be restrained, huh?...

i live in north providence ...i honestly hate when ppl talk about police brutality... in other countries police are allowed to open fire without such restraint as in america .....so i think we should all be gratefull of that ..with all do respect just becouse she was an older lady doesnt mean the cops should be more gentle... what if he or she was a teenage or adult ...cops cant all know what a persons true intentions are and should treat everyperson with the same toughness to keep the streets clean .... if u were to give ur kid a spanking u dont do it with a feather ....
first off. unless you where there you can't comment on what happened. but as a fellow law enforcement officer i can say that if your told to move, if your peaceful or not you better move. and for everyones info. there is a charge called "failure to move" which in lamens terms means a cop tells you to leave, you leave or go to jail. especially if your outside a place of business that does not want you there. and when you pester potential clients as they enter you also add a charge of harassment and assualt on a public official if you get verbal, beligurant or combative. now if the police where wrong or not you can't answer unless you are a cop and were in that same situation. thank you.
Wow Mr. Police officer. Just because there are places in the world that have WORSE cops than the US, that doesn't mean the US cops are perfect. It's not a fair comparative and unless they treat everybody without discrimination or unfair violence then there is a right to complain. Maybe you HATE IT when people talk about police brutality because you don't like the truth.. or the blatant facts. FYI, it doesn't matter what age or physical fitness a person may be, breaking their leg to that extent is unecessary in holding them back and if they are breaking the law, they should be arrested not battered.
Secondly, just because somebody doesn't practice a career on a certain subject doesn't mean that they aren't informed. I mean.. I don't do drugs for example, but I sure know a lot about them. It's a very similar situation and of course nobody and acclaim upon what happened that day because we didn't witness it, but NEITHER DID YOU SIR. So stfu and stop defending cops blindly.
The thing about police brutality is that it is unlawful, but police officers are so often un-convicted. So, it doesn't matter what the policies are or how the law is constructed because these thinds tend to happen under illegal circumstances.
